Ventura Elementary School, located in Kissimmee, Fla., is a part of the Osceola County School Board. It enrolls more than 1,100 students in preschool through grade five and provides a safe and nurturing learning environment. Students apply problem-solving strategies learned through written, oral and experiential applications in the classroom. The subjects cover core curricular areas, including language arts, mathematics, social studies and science. The school provides more than 25 computers in its media center. Its teachers and parents have collaborated with community agencies to develop and implement an integrated educational program for all students. Ventura Elementary School encourages all students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as its band and student council, and sports, such as basketball, volleyball and softball.
