I'm an LPN who applied for work at this business in June 2014. My immediate impression, upon walking into the facility was one of disappointment and lowered expectations. The front reception room was in total chaos. The personnel working the front desk and the stations projected frenzied atmosphere with an attitude of 'hitting the high spots'. It was notable that the patients were being belittled by the way they were being spoken to (loudly, harshly) and being shuttled about like cattle being herded. There was absolutely no respect towards the human beings in their care at this facility. I hoped that I was simply walking in on a bad day at the business so I began checking online and asking around in the medical community. I was amazed at the number of very bad references from several nurses, and even one doctor who wasn't afraid to speak out about the known distasteful and bad practices of this business. In further researching the biotech center, I ran across this bit of info indicating the amount of money being turned over by this facility: " Categorized under Services (Unclassified). Current estimates show this company has an annual revenue of $2.5 to 5 million and employs a staff of approximately 20 to 49. " In short, its a company making millions off the very people it perpetually degrades. Of note: I was told the day of my application that the owners or person(s) in charge of hiring were in a "private meeting" and could not see me that day. Out of curiosity and giving them the (great stretch) of benefit of doubt, I did a follow-up call (twice) to check on where my application was in the step-by-step employment process. I was told the exact same thing each time: they are in a private meeting and cannot be disturbed. One staff member even said these words, "They'll call you if they think they can use you -otherwise just keep looking." Given everything I saw and heard, I was not surprised, at all, with that response.

Nice Staff, It's a Long Process

Today was my first ever donation. I got there at 12:55pm & got out at 5pm, which is what I expected. New patients have to go thru the waiting for processing and a physical. You get asked the same questions over & over (do you have hepatitis, AIDS, tattoos, piercings, etc). The wait time between stations was about 10 mins...not bad. But be ready for a 4-5 hour deal if its your first, and from what I hear from the other donors, 3 hours for active donors. The staff was professional, warm, experienced, and performed their jobs with quickness and ease. I do recommend BioServices here in Kingsport.

This place is a joke...they te...

This place is a joke... They don't really even deserve the one star (had to give them at least one in order to post); they tell you that thier donors are heros, but treat them like crap. Let's be honest here folks...the people who go to these centers aren't going out of the goodness of their hearts, they go because they are broke and need the money. I went the first time and was told I couldn't donate because I had an abcessed tooth and was on antibiotics. They said to come back three days after my last dose. Never said anything about getting the tooth fixed, just that the antibiotics would be a problem. 30 miles of gas wasted. I came back after I had finished the antibiotics (three days after) and was told that I couldn't donate because of the abcessed tooth (not the antibiotics...the tooth). They said come back after I had the tooth resolved. I got the tooth pulled and waited two weeks to go back. They had me hanging around all day (literally, from 8 am to 3:30 pm, and my apointment was for 2 pm). An hour LATE for my apointment they told me that they couldn't take my donation because I had a benign brain tumor removed in 2002. They had that information from the VERY FIRST day. If that had been an issue I could have sent for medical records confirming that no dura matter transplant was used in the proceedure, while I was waiting to get my tooth pulled and taken it with me.

In my opinion...EXTREMELY Unprofessional. They don't have thier sh*t in one box and probably don't know where they put the box. I spent 90 miles worth of gas and got NOTHING but grief. Thank you very much Advanced Bio Services, for nothing. I've a good mind to send you a bill for my time wasted, after all, it's not like I had the money to spend on gas to start with.
