General Info: Richard Avery, MD, is a family medicine physician in Kileen, Texas who chose health care because of a chronic illness he had as a teenager. After experiencing what it was like to be a patient, he felt called to care for others in similar situations. Dr. Avery completed his education at the Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency in radiology at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and his internal medicine residency at OhioHealth Doctorâ€™s Hospital. When Dr. Avery is not seeing patients, he enjoys long walks, reading mystery novels, cooking and playing golf.
