"0"' STARS, GO ELSEWHERE!!!

THERE IS NOTHING STATE OF THE ART ABOUT A LICENSED VETERINARIAN FAILING TO FOLLOW ESTABLISHED MEDICAL PROTOCOL WHEN TREATING ANIMALS!!! My dog began seeing Dr. Louise Fuller in 12/2006. Before we moved to the area, my dog experienced seizures due to a possible liver issue, antibiotics caused the seizures to cease. Her first vet suspected microvascular dysplasia/MVD since she was responding to antibiotics. I advised Dr. Fuller of my dog’s history of seizures and possible MVD when we first met. When my dog began having seizures again in 2017, I took her to Louise Fuller and advised her that the seizures reminded me of the seizures she had as a puppy. Dr. Fuller told me that my dog could have a brain tumor, although no diagnostic testing was ordered to confirm or rule out a brain tumor, Dr. Fuller began treating my dog for a brain tumor. I would later learn that according to Dr. Fuller's peers that Dr. Fuller administered drugs to my dog that should not have been administered because of her liver condition. Dr. Fuller then added and increased those forbidden drugs which appeared to cause her seizures to worsen. Dr. Fuller also told me that she could try to help my dog stop having seizures by sedating her with Phenobarbital. Instead of helping my dog, my dog died; when I inquired as to what happened, Dr. Fuller was unable to answer. I later learned that Dr. Fuller took x-rays before the deadly treatment, which revealed that my dog already had an enlarged heart and possible pneumonia which I now believe was caused by the forbidden drugs she administered. It appears that Dr. Fuller began an expensive $ 996 treatment on a dog that was already dying from the effects of the drugs she had already ignorantly administered. After my dogs death, I requested her medical records and learned that since 2007, Dr. Fuller had ordered many tests but failed to disclose the test results. There was a test in the medical record from 2007; from my dog’s second visit with Dr. Louise Fuller that confirmed my dog had the liver condition MVD but Dr. Fuller failed to disclose it or treat it. There were multiple abnormal test results in the medical record. For over ten years, I was paying for diagnostic tests that were never used to treat my dog; I was filling the coffers at Krichel Animal Hospital. According to the law, failure to treat is considered veterinary malpractice and making someone pay for something they will never get is consumer fraud. The treatment for MVD was a low protein diet and maybe an antibiotic, Dr. Louise Fuller failed to diagnose and administer the proper and simple treatment for my dog's condition. My dog had to endure an untreated condition for the duration of her life because of Dr. Fuller's negligence and what appears to be her lack of medical skill. Iowa law requires a high standard of medical care, we didn't get it. Dr. Fuller also noted in the medical record that my dog had a bacterial overgrowth in her GI tract; bacteria is the cause of seizures in dogs with MVD. I don't understand doctors notating the medical record and failing to follow through. In spite of this, Dr. Louise Fuller turned me over to a collection agency when I refused to pay her bogus bill for sub-standard, not according to protocol veterinary service. I disputed the charges and advised the collection agency to obtain a court order. I refuse to pay for sub-standard care, it's a violation of Iowa Code. The licensing board that oversees Iowa's veterinarians, the IBVM is made up of 5 members, 3 are veterinarians, 2 are not. The three vets represent Iowa veterinarians, the two non-veterinarians represent the general public. The public is unfairly represented. With a three-fifths vote the Board veterinarians can decide any...
