Hawthorne Elementary School, founded in 1955, provides learning opportunities to more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers a developmental therapy program that assists students with behavioral development. The school runs a bilingual program for Spanish-speaking students. It also provides extended-day kindergarten and after-school homework programs for students who need extra time and support to ensure proper learning and retention. In addition, Hawthorne Elementary School conducts parenting classes and offers a bilingual program. It runs the Title I reading program that provides support to students who need additional reading assistance. The school s library stocks various reading and reference materials and offers an online list of accelerated reader quizzes.
