      Wastewater Treatment Division is a part of the city of Salem, Ore. It provides wastewater treatment services to the Salem-Keizer metropolitan area and operates under the authority of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. The division s operations section strives to operate various treatment processes in a cost effective manner. It works towards meeting water quality requirements, as well as educates citizens and public organizations about the importance of wastewater treatment. Wastewater Treatment Division s maintenance section provides plant-distributed control system development and database system management services. The division also maintains a laboratory section that supports a drinking water treatment plant and drainage systems. Wastewater Treatment Division is operated by the Public Works Department, which maintains engineering, transportation services and operations departments.
