Several weeks ago, I was prepared to pay $1,000 for an a/c repair with the local bougie car repair company, that is now on every corner in Katy. I actually like (& somewhat trust) the fancy place. However, I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Discount Car Care fixed my a/c for next to nothing. They fixed a leak in less than 20 minutes! They admitted that there is a small chance I would return in a few weeks, & would have to pay for a more complecated procedure. I have not had to return yet. By the way, they are open on weekends, including Sunday!!

I had the timing belt and water pump done at the Discount Care Car in September 2014. When I first picked up my truck I immediately had to take it back to them because they had not reconnected a hose in the front after doing the timing belt/waterpump. They fix it and when I get it home I turn the truck off and it took about 3 seconds to actually shut off. So I brought it back and the mechanic told me "it's not a big deal" and instead of fixing it, he adjusted the throttle and as a result the timing was never corrected. Why haven't I brought it back yet again? I moved to Washington and they do not have a shop associated with their company in this state. What's happening now? I have to pay to redo the timing and it's around $650. Also the same mechanic didn't even put the engine cover back on and I'm missing some bolts. I am very unsatisfied customer.
