General Info
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Nancy Chen pursued a research fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute/University of Southern California. She then completed a one-year internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. After the internship, Dr. Chen continued her research fellowship at the Center for Sight at Georgetown School of Medicine in Washington, DC. Her post-graduate training continued with a three-year ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas.Dr. Chen has multiple publications in the Ophthalmic Society and has received several awards, including Resident of the Year from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (2000) and the Gordon Award from the Alamo City Ophthalmology Clinical Conference (1999). She has also been active in community service in Hawaii since she started to practice here. The activity she considers most honorable is the Senior Program that helps elderly citizens who dont have insurance.Dr. Chen is fluent in English, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish, speaks some Japanese, and is learning Illocano.She is currently an Adjunct Faculty of the A.T. Still University in Arizona, she is helping train new Physicians.

From the staff at the front desk to the technicians to Dr. Eng and Dr. Chen; everyone is awesome! I had an ulcer in my eye and Dr. Chen saw me the same day despite her full schedule. Dr. Chen is outstanding. Smart, caring, kind, she really listens and I so appreciate her! Dr. Eng is outstanding as well. I saw her for an annual eye exam, she is really kind, professional and smarr! She worked with me to find the best solution for my vision needs. A big mahalo to the entire staff!
having cataract surgery with deluxe lens is the best thing that ever happened to me. It's amazing and I can see perfectly now without using contact lens and eyeglasses. I can say I was blind before my cataract surgery and now I can see everything. I am very happy with Dr Chen's surgery.

I came to see Dr. Chen to receive the IPL/BBL treatment for dry eyes. Before then, I had tried basically every other treatment with no significant improvement, including Lipiflow. After the first few treatments, I have been able to do the things I used to be able to do before I had dry eyes, such as going cycling, running, and going to social events without constantly feeling pain. I highly recommend Dr. Chen.
