This place has terrible employees, and they lie just to get your business, offering deals that are not honored once you have paid. Be extra careful not to take any jewelry or valuables , that may be left behind. I forgot a ring, and the girl that cleaned the room , found and kept it. When I talked to one employee, she stated the same girl had stolen her camera that she had left in the private office area. They ripped me off in a package deal too. My arm was in a cast, and I asked if my month could be extended,when the cast was removed, they said no way. Any business that greedy and sneaky should be avoided at all costs. They wouldn't let me cancel either, so I had to pay for a month I could not use. Do not go there, they DO NOT value their clients !

I would not recommend this place to anyone- customer service is terrible. Over the phone and in person. I called and asked about monthly specials and the girl was very short with me over the phone. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they may be busy, but was not given any more consideration when I actually went in to tan. I am an experienced tanner and just had some simple questions about the equipment to which the employee working did not know what she was talking about. I wasn't very impressed with the equipment or the explanation of the packages or products. This staff needs a lession in good customer service.

BEWARE! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP! BELOW PAR MANAGEMENT! I wanted to take advantage of the low monthly price for tanning so I signed up for their membership. One of the workers ensured me that I would be able to cancel at any time after the first full month was debited from my account. I was weary but I decided to trust them. When I went in to cancel after the first month, I was told I had to wait until the last week of the month and since it was the first of the month, I had to wait a whole month to try again. They refused to just notate the account at that time and cancel after that month. The girl insisted that I had to come in during the last week to cancel. I came in the last week of May 2011 and told the girl that I wanted to cancel at the end of the month and she said she'd note that on my account. There was never any mention of needing to do anything further. Today I noticed they charged me for the month of June. I called Tan World to let them know that I was charged erroneously. I spoke with a girl named Ashley that claimed she was a manager. However, she did not exhibit any management experience or display any maturity. She said I would need to give her the date that I came in and the girls name. She also mentioned that she would need to pull camera film from the store to prove it. Seems like a lot of work just to refund my measly $22 for the month. It was principal at this point. So I asked her to pull camera film from the last week that I came in and she refused to do it. Wasn't it her idea in the first place? She told me that there was no way to cancel my membership without me signing a cancellation form. However, she ended up printing a cancellation form today and was able to cancel my membership after this month without my signature. Seems contradictory. I asked for the owner's information and she stated that she couldn't tell anyone that information. She could only tell me that they lived in Omaha. There were a lot of excuses coming out of this sub-par manager. She also put me on hold without asking me to hold and picked up when she was done checking in a customer. This was definitely the worst managed place I have ever experienced. I still can't believe she was a manager. Definitely no education needed to work here! If you have a GED or high school degree and lack any college education, you can probably get a job here and become a manager shortly after!

I would stay away from Tan World on Prairie View Road in Kansas City, MO. There's a reason that their prices are low...you get horrible customer service in return. You will wish you had never walked in there and wasted your money.!

I bought the point system & they wouldn't honor it saying that it had expired & they no longer honor point systems...they got rid of it. I said that I bought $50 worth of points they should honor my $50. No one told me they were expiring the last time I had come in which was a month before they supposedly expired. I came in on 4/8/11 to tan, the girl at the front told me they had expired/got rid of the point system on 4/4/11. No one sent a notice or told me a month ago when I was in last. I had only been in 2 times before to tan, so I should have a few more tans left from my point system. I am beyond pissed that they STOLE my money & wouldn't honor my tans. Just because they have new system doesn't mean they can screw the other people that bought the old system/plan.

This tanning salon has the nicest gals! I've never been to a tanning salon where you can tell that they really appreciate your business as much as this one! I'm pretty fair complected and these gals have always looked out for me to make sure that I don't burn. Thanks a bunch!
