I would be remiss if I did not express just how pleased I am with the services Sallas Auto Repair. I recently paid a visit to have my car serviced/looked over "for a road trip" and Barry Degges--the Service Manager in the Kansas City location--went the "extra mile". He noticed that my tags were six months expired (saved me a possible ticket since I was due to travel) and it doesn't end there...I questioned the date and he journeyed an additional mile by volunteering to look in my glove compartment to confirm the date. And sure enough, they were expired. He suggested an inspection...since it was on a Wednesday I was able to get my tags renewed with no late fees (turned out it was a D.O.R. error), went back to tell Barry the good news and he amazed me more by volunteering to put the plates on my car. Now, this may be small to you, but this is big to me because not only do these guys notice the prominant things regarding our car, they notice and care about the small things as well!

This place has excellent customer service and can offer many nice extras like a ride to work and scheduling appointments online, but all that comes at a price. I went to a Womens Car Clinic there; it was really helpful and the mechanics seemed so honest. Though I already have a mechanic that I like, I ended up stopping at Sallas one day when a light came on in my car on my way to work. What a mistake. They are so pricey. They charged $120 just for diagnostics/inspecting the car. I have never paid that much for diagnostics anywhere else. They wanted $460 for brakes (my mechanic ended up doing it for $120) and said the brake fluid needed to be flushed (which my mechanic said was not true). They wanted $375 for two tires with an alignment. My mechanic gave me four tires for $225 and said I didn't need an alignment. They wanted over $600 to replace a hub bearing and axel shaft, which my mechanic will be doing for under $450. I will never go to Sallas again.
