Short wait for my appointment, friendly front desk staff, and a very nice hygienist who didn't even hurt me while cleaning my teeth!

HAVE BBEN MY DENTIST ALL OF MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN GONING TO THEM SINCE THEY WERE ON 43RD AND PROSPECT. MY KIDS WENT TO HIS DAUGHTER AND I CONTINUE TO GO TO DR CANNON.

When I first went to this office I was scared to go in, its in a largely black neighborhood and I am white, however once I went inside the color of my skin did not matter, the staff and doctors were very nice they explained what they thought I need to have done and in what order they thought it should be done in, however when I explain the order and reasoning behind the way I wanted they were more than willing to work with me. That was 17 years ago and still go there I have sent all of my friends (black & white) here and not one of them have had any problems. In fact the office manager went out of her way on a Saturday(the only day they are closesd) to help one of my friends fix her bridge when her and serveral other denist want $200.00 just to come into the office, it was fix for free, well almost free the cost was a cream pie the next time my friend was in the area :) which was delivered the following Monday with a smile. She is now one of their clients, needless to say.

I have been seeing Dr. Kanion for over 16 years. I have never had a bad expierience there. He replaced a bridge that kept coming off . He has also given me six new crowns. SInce I have been having my teeth fixed since I was 18 years old (forty years ago) I can say that I am extremely pleased with his services. I have recommended him to all my friends and many of my friends already go there. I have never heard anything negative about him. When you are as nervous as I am about going to the dentist, time seems to stand still, but he really is quite efficient. Sometimes if you really need to be out of there, just let them know and they will try their best. I will continue to use him as my dentist

I waited over an hour for Dr. Kanion, then he told me he did not like to be rushed.
...Excuse me?
I felt like he was afraid of catching something, as he kept leaving me alone without a word.
I told him my broken tooth was infected, and he said no it wasn't. He told me he would fill it with a special compound and put a crown on it at the same time.
He filled it & gave me a temp. crown for 7 days.
He never even took another look at my partial, and disappeared again this time for good.

The girl who told me half of the payment was required when I walked in, made me pay the full amount as I was leaving. Though the crown would not be in for 7 days and the work completed.

I have been sick to my stomach with tremendous mouth pain. I thought it was just the Dr's brutal handling of my mouth, but the infected tooth is pulsating and the gum if very inflamed with lesions. Now it is the weekend and I have to find an emergency dentist for an extraction. I will never need the crown I paid for.

He was the most unprofessional Dr./Dentist I have ever met. My first gut instinct was to walk away. When I waited over an hour I was getting up to leave and Dr. Kanion stopped me, and began his fake denistry.

I hate to say anything bad about anyone. But this was the worse experience I have ever had.
I wonder if it is because I am white, or he is just a terrible dentist?
Either way, he destroyed all benefit of doubt I had given for his unprofessional office procedures.
