About the first review. I work at another grooming shop and when a pet owner lets their dogs get badly matted all you can do is shave them You can't brush this out . This is not a responsible pet owner to let their dogs get that way. Also looks like they need a course in spelling. This is a great 2nd generation family owned business.

Happy Tails Independence, MO 4804 Noland Rd, Kansas City, MO 64133 If I were asked by anyone, let alone a friend whether to use this place, I would , without a doubt tell them to STAY AWAY from here!!! I brought in two beautiful Aphgans , twin girls to be "TRIMMED" and these two women shaved these to dogs to the point that they now look like Greyhounds!!! A friend wen with me to take them in on Tuesday April 9, 2013 and heard every word as I described and pleaded with them NOT to take off their beards, their whiskers, their paws since this completely destroys the appearance of an Afghan. They went ahead and shaved them all off of both the girls. They look almost like "rats" as one friend put it. Totally disgusting!!!! I called today and spoke with Jacob who was the person who booked this and all he had to say was "Sorry". No offer to refund any money and at $70.00 each I feel they should have refunded at least one or all of it. We both agreed that , sure we all knew that the girls were matted badly but nonetheless, that was NO reason to shave them entirely. There's just no excuse for this. I told Jacob to tell his , so called groomers to NEVER, ever, ever take on an Afghan in their place since they knew nothing about how to care for them. An Afghan is a very, very expensive breed of a dog and unique in their appearance. Again, "sorry" was all I got. They tell me shouldn't be too hash on them , however , reviews such as these are to serve the people who have NOT been to a place to inform them and I must add that my two dogs had no place whatsoever to go to the bathroom. There is about a 1/4 of a mile of parking spots all round with absolutely no grass to go to. I am disabled and , of course had to wait till I got my dogs home t let them go outside. I asked the lady when I paid them if they had gone to the bathroom at all and she answered emphatically "NO". I thought that was very, very strange for a place doing this kind of a business. A good friend suggested this place and I don't blame them for this. I blame the unprofessional behavior of the employees and the owner. My only recourse is to try to get some of my money back and warn the public to STAY AWAY!!! Had they offered me a refund I might not be as harsh but they deserve it nonetheless. I only wish I had the photos my friends shave on their cell phone and on my cell phone which I don't don't know how t upload to my computer from the phone. I highly recommend Happy Tails Pet Salon. I am the owner of a hyper dog. It's not my dog's fault, it's mine for not training her better. I am amazed by the patience and professionalism of the staff whenever I have my dog is bathed, groomed, and her nails clipped. They do a great job working with her. I watched Jamie clip my dogs nails the first time we went there and my dog was quite uncooperative. Jamie was not rattled at all was able to safely clip my dogs nails. I have seen similar acts of patience and professionalism with other dogs when I have been at the shop. If you want a groomer that will make your dog look great and treat the dog well during the process, take your dog to Happy Tails.

I absolutely love this place! They have some of the best groomers around! They recently just got this new groomer named Jacob and he is really good. I have a toy poodle that just hates being groomed and has been hurt by one groomer so he is very skittish. Jacob did such a great job, my little baby just came out so happy he's never that happy leaving the groomers! I highly recommend this groom shop to everyone! Kellie

My dog is a true drama dog. No, he's not spoiled- a least not by me. But at Happy Tails they really do a thorough and expert job and pampering your baby is just one of their specialties and a priority. There is no specific person I wouldn't trust my pooch with, they're all great. Each person gets a detailed description of how and what you want done with your pet and I can guarantee your pet will be show quality when they're done! They are timely, they are professional, and their price is excellent! I don't just recommend them, I love this salon and will never take my pet anywhere else.
