Kalkaska Middle School, also known as KMS, is a learning center that offers a range of educational opportunities to more than 320students in grades six through eight. Its curriculum includes English, physical education, social studies, language arts, music, math and reading. The school provides special education programs for students with learning disabilities. Kalkaska Middle School maintains a media center and builders club, as well as offers guidance counseling and food services. It provides a variety of athletic activities, such as volleyball, football and cross-country. The school also offers after-school programs and operates a parent-teacher-student association. Kalkaska Middle School is a part of Kalkaska Public Schools, which governs several elementary and high educational institutions.
