Heather gains satisfaction and fulfillment in helping others. That passion lead her into healthcare where she worked many years as a nurse in homecare and wound care. Through her experiences she developed a need to advance her career and continue her education at a master’s level and received her family nurse practitioner degree so that she can take her skills to reach more people in her community. Heather believes in advanced wound care treatments and collaborative holistic care to provide the top of the line treatment for her patients.Family has always been a big influence to Heather. Coming from a family of nurses, she knew that her path was to follow in their footsteps and continue the legacy of nursing excellence by helping the lives of others in her community.Heather enjoys problem solving and collaborating with a team as it keeps her on her toes. She enjoys the constant challenge of wound care and the reward and satisfaction that comes with positive patient outcomes. Heather has special interests in wound care awareness and amputation prevention and has a goal to create a limb salvage chapter in southwest Michigan.In her free time, Heather enjoys being with her husband and two children. Being a mother and wife has been the most rewarding honor of her life. She always looks forward to summer vacations in northern Michigan and spending nights watching college football and basketball.I am pleased to be a part of Bronson Hospital and the Wound Care Team. My deep passion is to seek and understand the many factors that prevent wounds from healing and to take that knowledge into the clinic to help patients see positive health outcomes so they will be able to live their best life. I am an advocate for limb salvage and will do my part to ensure each patient will receive advanced specialty wound care. I look forward to collaborating with my patients and treatment team to provide the best, most well-rounded care for every patient that entrusts their care to us.
