      GimmeShelter Animal Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 Florida Corporation helping animals in distress and keeping them in a home environment with love and care with a focus on rehabilitation and quality placement in a forever home. The founder has 25 years of experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, pocket pets and birds. GimmeShelter is not just for our non-human friends either. We are also opening our doors to women in need of a soft place to fall temporarily when the need arises and they meet our criteria because we strongly believe that everybody needs somebody to love. Our dream has always been a world with no unwanted pets. Knowing that's an impossible dream, we set our sights instead on a shelter with no cages, no prisons, no bars. The animals brought to GimmeShelter will be raised in a home environment. They will all have basic training and a final bubble bath and mani/pedi prior to adoption. Each adoption will be special and a reason for celebration. Cats and dogs will be carefully placed in loving homes. In other words, you will get the best companion animal for your family and lifestyle. Furthermore, we have a WoofLine, where you can call any time for advice and assistance about behavior modification so that you will never feel you have been “stuck” with an animal you can't handle.
