A.O. Community Services provides assisted living and community integration services to people with mental and physical disabilities and at-risk children. It provides 24-hour skill training, safety assessment, medication, transportation and professional support services. Located in Joplin, Mo., the company provides services in Kansas City, Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff, Rolla, Sikeston, Springfield and West Plains in Missouri. In addition, A.O. Community Services operates various transitional living centers for youths. It is a part of Alternative Opportunities, a nonprofit organization that provides services to people with disabilities, families and children in crisis, people needing work support, youths transitioning to independence, and women and their families with substance abuse problems.
