Went away for a "Girls Getaway" and purchased the package (439.00 per person 2 nights) that included: 60min Massage, Lavender Manicure and Pedicure and the Oxygen Facial. And dinner at the Chicago Water Grill. O.k....upon arrival the place is nice and the room is decent ( the shower needed to be bleached (mildew in the corners) The owner had to run and get our robes..which should of been in our rooms and ready for us "before" we arrived! The massage was nice and the girl was really good.. some nice smelling lotions or oils would of been nice though. She was probably the most professional out of everyone. Then, I am ready for the Mani and Pedi..they take me into a guest room that is not being rented and proceed to put my feet into a pan that they "bleach" after every use (per owner). This service was done by "Candy"..nice girl..but, the Pedi consisted to a five minute foot soak, parifin dip, a sugar scrub and then paint. To me a pedicure is alot more...where was the pumice, callous removal and the massage on the feet and up the calves??? My feet were not soft at all! I mean I could of done all this myself! The manicure...consists of a few minutes soaking..she removed the clear nail polish from one of my hands and NOT the other, parafin dip (no mitts, just plastic bags and then wrapped in hand towels), file, and paint. Where was the hand and arm massage) Not to mention this girl had a huuggee wart on her hand. Which I really didnt need to see. It should of been covered up or gloves should of been worn!! How unsanitary!!! This was supposed to be a super relaxing weekend. But, during the so called services all they did was talk, talk, talk. Then the facial...we decided against it. I was afraid of how bad that too would be. Lastly, dinner, we got a 50.00 gift card. The steak was horrible..I honestly think the meat was bad. A Flat Iron steak should NOT taste like LIVER! I couldnt believe it!! However, the Chef did come out to try and fix it. The best thing about this trip was the chocolate cake..it was colassal. My point is DONT let their advertising fool you like it did me!! I thought they would have a salon or at least a special room dedicated for all these wonderful services they offer. I felt very deceived. I was expecting a wonderful weekend away with my friend..a break from my kids... and I left in tears. I mean, for 439 a person you would think they could atleast have the fire lite, your robes out, mints on your pillows and offer you some tea. Yes, they do all the services they advertise for. But, its not what you think.....

The Munro House beats the heck out of the local hotels. I have felt right at home with my own comfortable room and several restaurants that I can walk to. It's nice that they have free wireless cable internet, cable TV, DVD players, and a nice collection of movies that I don't have to pay to watch. The breakfast is good, too. KUDOS!
