The Will County Land Use Department, located in Joliet, Ill., is responsible for administrating and enforcing adopted ordinances related to new and existing development. It also regulates use of land and guides development in the unincorporated areas. The department s planning and zoning division develops and implements land use plans. The Will County Land Use Department s waste services division educates about waste disposal and recycling, as well as inspects and enforces environmental regulations and applicable permits at nonhazardous waste sites. The Will County Land Use Department s long range planning section is responsible for preparing and implementing land resource management plans.
