Established in 1973, Grand Prairie Elementary School offers educational classes to more than 750 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school operates under Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 and is located in Joliet, Ill. Grand Prairie Elementary School's curriculum includes reading, language arts, mathematics, health education, social studies, science, art, music and physical education. The school has a library that provides curriculum-related materials and a variety of free reading options for its students. In addition, Grand Prairie Elementary School operates a media center that offers a collection of books, magazines, journals and also provides electronic databases. The school also provides special classes for gifted and talented students.
