Rrecieved my sora certification from this agency in january of 2011. i called a few months afterwards and completely got the run around, put on hold for 15-30 minutes, very unprofessoinal. Wouldn't refer anyone to this company after giving them so much money to even get my sora licenses. been trying to get in contact for the last 3-4 months phone # not working. spent money on licenses for nothing.

I just attended the SORA Training at D and D Protection in Jersey City this weekend. The facility is clean and modern, designed like a training classroom should be designed, projectors, sound etc. But the best part is the Instructor. Our Instructor Dan who is a retired officer who brought 35 years of experience to the training, and he was great! Not only did he teach the curriculum, but he made it funny and interesting to boot. I will say that I actually learned many things about security work and the laws of NJ in general I never new before this. Anyone complaining about this class is nuts, but many people simply think they are gonna pay money, attend, get handed a license, AND A JOB without doing any work. Not happening here. This place keeps you 12 hours both days, and that upsets many students. They are lazy and will never succeed in security anyway. If you are looking for a professional SORA school, this is the one.

Every student DOES have a different experience. I was in the same class at D and D and I already have a job with them. Hopefully I can supervise some accounts in the future. Students are always gonna blame the school or instructor when they did not have a good experience, but I will ttell you that class was taught by a retired chief from police, and his insights were interesting and worth the price of admission. The power points are from NJSP and HAVE to be shown. But this school goes above and gives classes on Fire Safety, FIrst Aid, CPR, etc. AND they do the FULL 24 hours as required. How many of the cheapo SORA schools do THAT? The probelm with that class was many students were disrespectful to the instructor and to other students by yacking, moving around, and leaving at will to go out in hallway and blab on the phone. These students aren't fit for security work, and I think the student complaining above was probably one of them.

I purchased the security course from d&d and this was the worst experience ever. There wasn't any heat, no desk, cheap folding chairs....poor presentation all together. While in the class we watched different power points and video clips and when a student asked to turn off the lights it was a huge discrepancy because the entire class didn't say they couldn't see the clip therefore the lights were kept on and no one in the class( all who paid 300) couldn't see the film. I believe that i could have had a better experience with a lower(150$ lower) course. I wouldn't recommend this "school" to anyone.
