General Info

When we started in 2002, our focus was primarily residential security. We quickly acquired national service contracts for companies such as CVS/pharmacy, Big Lots, Dollar General, and others. In 2007, when the economy was going great, Matt realized that everything follows economic cycles and began to plan for a downturn. It was then that we decided to put a greater focus on expanding into home entertainment as a way of supporting our security business. Matt sought out the training to become the best of the best. As of this time, Matt is the only CEDIA certified system designer in the Louisville metro area. Very soon, 2 additional employees with Hawkeye will become certified by CEDIA as well. There are only 2 other certified professionals in the Louisville area. To have 3 of the 5 is quite prestigious. Matt also looked to wisdom of other entrepreneurs throughout time and realized that a down economy is the best time to expand. While most other companies look to contract, we added staff, invested in additional training, and raised our standards. We also got more aggressive in marketing by exposition at trade shows, participation in trade associations, and business networking.In 2011, after having been in the same 1500’ building for over 6 years, we realized that we had to move to grow. With the new building and addition, we have adequate space for additional future growth.

We are members of professional associations: National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA), Home Builders Association of Southern Indiana (HBASI), Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL). We are involved in local chambers of commerce including 1Si, 10th Street Area Business Association, J-town chamber, and St. Matthews Area Business Association. Matt has served in leadership roles of several of these associations. We are also members of the Better Business Bureau and rated A+. We have also stepped up to support The KIDS center of Kentucky, a non-profit that assists 300 children per week with special needs. We have served on event planning committees with them, offered financial sponsorship, and now include an “ask for assistance” to all of our customers as part of our order form.
