Dr. Shashank Musku is a non-surgical sports medicine physician within the Allegheny Health Network Orthopaedic Institute. He is trained in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries both in clinic and on the side lines. He specializes in patients dealing with sports injuries, fracture management, low back pain, joint pains, osteoarthritis and arthritis pain, shoulder injuries including rotator cuff & labral tears, muscle injuries, concussions and both diagnostic as well as therapeutic ultrasound injections. He attended St. George’s University School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at AHN Forbes Family Medicine Program in Monroeville, PA where he served as chief resident during his last year of training. He also completed an additional year of training in Sports Medicine at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA. During his fellowship year, he assisted in providing care for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and the USA Rugby team. He currently serves as the team physician for Brentwood High School and Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He has partnered with and the Pittsburgh Cricket League and provides care for their players. Dr. Musku is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Musku believes in delivering patient centered care by offering patients with all possible treatment options (surgical and non-surgical) for patients to make a well-informed decision regarding their treatment best suited for their individual situation. He sees patients of all ages for concussions and ages 10 and older for musculoskeletal/orthopaedic injuries.
