My family has ate here for years. We love it and can't wait til the weekend.(only open fri-sun) I love the smoked chicken or just a pork sandwich and you have to get the fries. Also try the stew with fried cornbread and don't forget the chocolate cake for dessert. They have been open for over 16 years and that says alot. A great family restaurant keeping simple nothing fancy just good food.

I know this was a busy night f...

I know this was a busy night for this small town BBQ. The parking lot was full. My wife and I came in and were asked to sign in and wait, which we did, for over 30 minutes. Then, finally, we were seated and watched the young waitress walk back and forth never even acting as if she noticed us for another hour and 10 minutes. We were starving, had invested 2 hours in eating here, but finally after she literally completed every possible task for every table ahead of us, she finally found time to take our order - and of course they were out of "a lot of stuff!" (her words). Keep in mind, the guy at the register sat picking his finger nails in plain sight while we waited. The young man who was johhny on the spot to bus the tables, did his job quickly, but then just stood off in the distance and watched us wait. The waitress - brought everything to the customers at the table next to us, then an extra fork, then tea, then took back some rolls, then ......but still never even asked for our drink order. The food, I'm pretty sure the baked beans were canned with some bbq sauce and a little meat added to them (very little meat). The "stew" may have been "Poss'" brunswick stew, again with some strings of pork floating in them. Oh, we asked for some crackers - they tasted of pickle juice or something? The chopped pork BBQ came doused heavily in some kind of brown sugar sauce that wasn't terrible but not great either. The stale roll just made it perfect. When checking out, the obligatory question of "how was it?" was offered up by the old fat guy at checkout. I said, "truthfully, the young lady was very nice when we finally had the opportunity to speak to her, but I counted her passing us by over 16 times in the last hour plus. She never even offered us tea or water or anything. The food, barely acceptable." He said, "Oh, you had to wait. I really jammed them up pretty bad tonight." No I'm sorry, no gee, I guess I could have brought you something to drink - just blamed it on his rotten fortune of having a packed house due to the leaf lookers and apple minions. Don't worry, I hope enough folks read this that keep the parking lot with lots of spaces from now on.

Not that great

The fries and slaw was good, not great though. Just mediocre. The brisket was not chopped and the sauce and meat was not good. The bread they brought out was cold. I also tried the chopped pork and it was overcooked. The service was lacking, not very friendly as you would expect from a barbecue place. Sorry guys you just have missed the mark.
