New York City Industries for the Blind is a nonprofit company that was founded in 1995. It provides on-site employment opportunities to people who are blind and visually impaired in the Greater New York City metropolitan area. The company provides a variety of services, such as assembling, packaging, warehouse fulfillment and mail bags sorting. It has a military apparel division that employs more than 60 individuals and produces air force physical fitness and army combat uniform pants. Additionally, the company provides several products, including signboards, wet and dust mops, brooms, deck brushes, hardware items, gloves, sponges, scrubbers, emergency reflective blankets and specialty vinyl products.
