One star is far more generous than the actual rating I would give this poor excuse for a business. I had high hopes for this place but was quickly disappointed (for lack of a better word of). I arrived on a mellow Sunday night with my husband and three friends. The place seemed pleasant and we settled into a round table in the dining room. Two of my friends had ordered beers and one had ordered a glass of wine. The waitress had checked our IDs before passing our orders to the bar. The bartender came out with their drinks and asked to see their IDs again. My husband and I were ready to order drinks and so he then asked for ours. After a couple unnecessary long minutes of the bartender meticulously examining every millimeter our IDs, he then began to ask each one of us what our zodiac signs were. Seriously. Zodiac signs. At that point I suspected the bartender was intoxicated. One of our friends didn't know what their sign was and the bartender replied, "How are you on this earth for 21 years and not know what your sign is?" My friend is 23 had the bartender actually looked at his ID. We asked him how he knew all of the different Zodiac signs and he replied that he actually didn't know. This guy must have been on crack. The bartender then said, "Tell me which one of you is under 21 so I can serve the ones who can legally drink." Our entire party was of legal age to drink alcohol (ages 22-25) so we told him no one was under age. His interrogation embarrassed us in front of the entire restaurant. We asked for our IDs back and asked to see a manager. The bartender then took the drinks he served us along with our IDs back to the bar. After a few minutes of seeing no sign of the bartender, manager, or our IDs, we decided to retrieve our IDs as well as leave to a respectable business and headed toward the bar. There we found our IDs (obviously containing sensitive information) with some random man sitting at the bar. The bartender was serving other customers and not paying attention to the man who had our IDs with our personal information. We got them back from the strange man at the bar and proceeded to leave the premises. I have never encountered such a condescending and rude restaurant employee. Please, do not waste your time at this establishment. There are so many great restaurants in Jacksonville, but this is not one of them.
