Rebuilt 7 years ago and transmission still running strong.

Corm's are family owned and it shows.Bob the elder Crom (Father) is friendly and just a simple down to earth type of guy along with being a family man. I recall in 2006 I was on my way back home to Jacksonville from NY. I entered I believe the Harbor tunnel in Baltimore when the tranny on my 89 Toyota Corolla went out, and it was during the Labor Day weekend. (Horrible experience) Had to take a bus back to NY. The quotes in NY and Baltimore were outrageous, between 21-23 hundred dollars. Three days later my spouse met me at the bus terminal. Wish I could remember the shop were the Corolla was at. The members of that shop Were Not friendly and would not help me get the car onto a trailer. Two young teenagers helped me roll it up and secure it. I came by Crom's by chance. I let go of the Corolla last year and the rebuilt transmission form 1996 was still running strong!Informed Bob that when my wife and I were trying to back here from Baltimore prior to Bertha making land fall and that we had just made it. The total cost to rebuild the Corolla's transmission in 1996 was $996.00. Crom's, Bob saved me over 1k dollars. Recently, Bob worked on my daughter's 2001 Isuzu Rodeo transmission a few weeks ago and told him of this story. My daughter who had been living in Ashville was informed that it would not be worth fixing the transmission. Really the Rodeo is in sound condition with over 200k miles on it. Bob not only repaired it, but he also took the time to explain to both my daughter and I step by step what took place and why (Barney still, abc, baby steps). I have recommended Crom's and been thanked by doing so and will continue to recommend Crom's to family, friends and customers. I got a call from my son who is 500+ miles from home saying he was having trouble getting his truck to shift gears. Being new to the area, he did not know anyone to take it to. I found Crom's online and gave them a call. My son took the truck in, and they fixed him up without breaking his bank. My son called and told me "they treated me like family". They know what they are doing and are very honest people.

Transmission went out on 97 Camaro. Car was picked up from house on Monday. Shop said they could not get to it untill Tuesday morning. Went to shop first thing Tuesday and they had stayed late Monday removing and di-assembling transmission. Mr. Crom walked me thru the process and showed me both good parts as well as bad ones. Agreed upon a price and they went to work. Only delay was waiting for 1 part to arrive. Received car back good as new and a little cheaper than price quoted. Thanks for a job well done to you and your crew.

I had them work on my daughter's vehicle. I thought it needed a fuel pump, but it was some electrical problem. I actually saved money. Thanks again.

They fixed a transmission problem that I have had for years. I can't count how many times that Chevy dealers changed all sorts of parts without fixing the problem. I am very happy with their work.

We visit from No VA often, drive older cars, and now have had 3 cars repaired by Crom's. Being from out of town, not knowing any repair shops, you can imagine the nightmare we faced when we first needed help. I always feel confident things can be worked out. They go out of their way to be fair, and their work is exceptional.Auto diagnostics (much like medical diagnosys) can be complicated and puzzling, with multiple problems, and yes, there is often more trouble than first appearances. They will always look beyond the immediate issue to check for other problems.As for some of the other reviews, just be sure to talk with Crom's about your concerns if not satisfied. For me, I can only say they have always been exceptional and fair, and that I have full faith and trust in Crom's Automotive.

Had some work done to my husbands car... AWFUL!!! They gave us one price then added about 600 bucks to it when we wnet to pick it up said they had to fix something else too.... The REPAIR was never trully repair either casue it broke again a month after haveing the car back.... They said it would be done in a week... we didnt see the car again for 3 weeks!!!!! Everytime we called it was a different story!!! Never will return!!!
