I met a friend here who had brought their dog in after her dog was found unresponsive with what looked to be head trauma. They kept insisting that she needed to put the dog down saying it was inhumane to let the dog suffer. When she finally decided to proceed with the euthanasia they insisted receiving payment up front. This was a lengthy process considering they had to go through care credit etc. $500 in care credit was available and used. My friend offered to leave her id and run home to get cash for the remainder if they would please put the dog out of it's misery. They declined and made the dog suffer longer. This dog was only in their office an hour or two at the most. Yet they were unwilling to put the dog out of it's misery until they had $800 in hand. Kerrin Maillet was the Veterinarian that treated the dog and insisted on full payment before she would euthanize the dog. I think her heart was in the wrong place.

My first visit here was yesterday evening under the worst possible circumstances. We had initially brought my dog to another vet because he had been acting unusual and seemed to be in pain. The first clinic ran some tests and he had so many different things wrong with him that they could not figure it out. They told us we needed to see an internal medicine animal hospital and that is when I discovered VCA Augustine Loretto and made an appointment. Unfortunately, our boy took a turn for the worst yesterday and they were able to move our appointment to see him immediately. Every person we had come in contact with was so incredibly kind. We saw Dr. Prince and he was so kind and gentle with him. It was a very hard day and don't remember the two girls helping him but they really went above and beyond. I don't really have words for how thankful I am for this place and these people. Dr. Prince helped explain what was going on with him several times to make sure we understood and I really appreciate it because our heads were moving a mile a minute. They took incredible care of him until his last moments and will certainly be bring my other animals here. I highly recommend this hospital and thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for helping him be as comfortable and at peace as possible.

Very corporate. Only real interest was in trying to talk me into an expensive ultrasound. I paid for liquid anti-biotic $30 but I wasn't told it had to be refrigerated. I had to buy another bottle $35. Why it was $5 more was not explained. Dog was not cured. After 3 months, went to another vet and UTI was fully treated.

Our new vet

We just relocated here from Houston, leaving behind a vet that we and our dog truly loved. As our dog has required so many special needs, it was a bit unnerving to relocate and wonder who we could trust our dog's care to. We were told about this clinic in casual conversation. From our previous experience, we assumed that if the vet was OK and our dog was comfortable, we would be fine for now. We have found that if Truman does not like the vet, forget it and find another one.

We were warmly greeted, the staff was busy, but not too busy to be courteous and friendly with our dog. The facility is clean, the staff professional and alert to any and all information I gave them about our dog. Dr. Eslick and her staff were attentive to my information and responded to my every question. Truman, although not feeling well, liked the staff and that is an extremely important factor to us.

We have now found our new vet.
