One of the best places to get breakfest in the city!

Absolutely the very best Diner ever! Ate here twice after seeing Chef Guy Fiery's visit on his TV show. 6 chefs behind the line! fast service. HUGE portions! On first visit, ate breakfast of hashbrowns and stuffed Calah Bread French toast with berry sauce, then ordered a Hot Pastrami on rye with another hash browns! 5 PLATINUM Stars for this place. I'll be a regular weekly from now on!

Great place for breakfast. Their food is first class, their service is great, the atmosphere is cozy and the owner is very involved in the business and addresses needs and concerns very quickly. The food is YUMMY!

Love love love the food but its to small and no parking.

Went here for lunch during the Georgia/Florida gameday for lunch and had a great experience and full stomachs! I loved the portion size of the shrimp and grits but my boyfriend said he wished there was more chorizo on his nachos.

Great food. Only complaint is that when it is crowded (and it usually is) it is loud.

A local favorite. This diner surpasses all restaurants on the First Coast. They cook an array of different items from Crab Cake Benni, 10-in pancake, Fresh local seafood dishes, and more. Everything is made from scratch and you will not leave disappointed, large portions at a great value. You've just got to try it. Look for the blackboard specials that are not on the menu ranging from American classics to Eclectic fusion. Don't forget to try the famous Key Lime Pie. It is voted best in Jax every year!

I have never had a bad meal - in fact the quality of their food and the portions are well above any other eatery that I frequent. Presentation and flavor are very, very good. The staff are the most friendly of any family style restaurant you will find. The owners and all staff make a concerted effort to know their patrons, and it shows. The number of return and regulars there are obvious by the amount of time Mark et al stop to say hello and exchange pleasantries. So, for a meal and atmosphere plus wait staff that will put a smile on your face without depleting your wallet, make your first stop Metro Diner. It won't be your last.

It's good to see a privately owned restaurant do so well, since most restaurants in Jax. are chains. If you want very good food with a neighborhood feel, come to the Metro Diner - you won't be disapointed!
