First, let me start off by saying that my husband and I usually LOVE Joe's Crab Shack. We have been in California, Savannah, and Daytona... but this visit... was terrible! We counted 28 employees, six of whom were by the entrance and not a single one welcomed any of the incoming customers. My husband and I requested to sit outside but because the wait was so long, we told them a booth inside would be fine. How about this, twice two families already sitting at tables were moved to empty booths while meanwhile my husband and I stood waiting for 25 minutes! Finally, I walked over to one of the six wait staff and told them I'd like to be seated. Once we were seated, we could see into the kitchen where we witness two wait staff employees scraping food off dishes with the their finger nails and then placing the plates in the clean stack... talk about gross.

On a side note, our food was good and out fast.

Worst management, worst service, food is decent if you can actually get what you ordered, but it is by no means worth the high price! I expected to spend a bit here, but not for a terrible experience.

I was completly satisfied with the crab legs pot that blew my mind. Thanks Shelly for keeping everything in order through out the whole time.

family oriented beach themed restaurant with outside or inside bar and seating. playground for kids right next to beach and lifeguard station. love to sit outside to see the beautiful ocean however beware of the lil pigeons walking around looking for food scraps. sometimes people tend to feed them. lol they have a lil logo shop inside with shirts. love their sea food and shark mixed drinks. on a busy day or with grouped people they can still find you a seat.

I've had most items on menu. Is a bit pricy and noisy. If you don't mind above average prices for average food and noise levels that prevent communication, this is your place. The stuffed jalepenos are too hot for human consumption. The best item on menu was crab balls which were hush puppy style crab cakes. They did away with them.

i don't know about the chicken but the steam pots are so good the sausage has a really great taste and the crab is sweet my favorite is the sunfire pot it has a lil spice but it doesnt over power the seafood it comes with corn on the cob 2 different types of crab, shrimp, potatoes and sausage. the service is great and they are very friendly. evey 45 min they dance they have great music and is fun for all ages. they have a great view of the ocean but beware of the birds if you sit outside they sometimes like to take you food. they even have an area if you have kids. as you wait for your food your kids can play in the play ground and they have tables and servers in the play ground.

I couldn't wait to try Joe's since I usually love all seafood restaurants. Well, this was not a "love" experience. It was actually the worst meal I've ever had in my life ! I ordered the Key West Chicken with a mango something or another on top. I thought they could have at least diced the mango, but no, they pureed it and combined it with crab. It actually looked like someone had barfed on my plate. My dinner companions couldn't even stomach their own dinner because of my abomination on my plate. I, of course still had to at least try it, thinking it would actually taste pretty good. Boy, that was a big mistake! It was awful! I just can't stress that enough.
