Incorporated in 1919, The American Legion is one of the largest veteran's service organizations in the United States specializing in mentoring and sponsoring youth programs. It advocates patriotism, honor, promotes national security and offers devotion to fellow service members as well as veterans. The American Legion offers a number of local programs and activities, including legion racing, legislative, shooting sports, child welfare foundation as well as scouting, among others. It provides financial support network, national security and temporary financial assistance to veteran's and its families.
