Founded in 1968, Operation Shoestring offers community-based programs and services for individuals and families. It provides the Project KIDS program, which includes classes in literacy development and cultural arts. The organization offers summer programs and care services for children. Operation Shoestring provides training related to parenting and vocational skills development, as well as assists with GED preparation. Additionally, it maintains a food pantry that serves women, senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. The organization also conducts workshops on topics related to health care, home maintenance, and budget, debt and stress management. Operation Shoestring publishes a newsletter that offers information related to news and events of the organization. It is located in Jackson, Miss.
