Translectric was established with the copyright of the device called Service Mate, a device able to provide emergency electrical power for motor driven tools. The company was originally set up in a basement. Translectric began to expand and sold back-up alarms on heavy equipment and moved into a 5,000-square-foot block-and-brick single-story building. In 1989, the company published its first product guide with only 16 pages and one item per page. The product guide has since expanded to 56 pages. Translectric offers backup alarms, cab fans, DC-DC (direct current to direct current) converters, magnetic work lights and voice messaging. The company was founded in 1967 and is located in Jackson, Mo.
