Created in 1989 by the merger of Genuine Tool and Nuclear Automation, Precision Defense Services produces precision-machined parts for the military and commercial markets. The company s tooling includes nearly 10 CNC vertical machining centers, approximately 17 CNC horizontal machining centers, several CNC lathes, and a number of precision horizontal boring mills and electrical discharge machining tools. The company has expertise in precision machining a variety of materials, including stainless and carbon steel, titanium, zirconium, copper nickel, nitralloy, aluminum, waspalloy, hasalloy, stellite and monel. PDS products and materials are used in a number of technologically advanced systems, such as aircraft radar, missiles and nuclear components for government and commercial requirements. The company is ISO-9002 certified and incorporates magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspections, mass spectrometer and theromoelectric testing, and Rockwell and micro-hardness testing regimens in its quality control system.
