I had such a wonderful experience at Jo-Lin's! Hands down best bridal shop! Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. They had so many dresses from so many designers to choose from! They were so patient while I tried on numerous dresses and they helped me find my dream gown! From ordering my dress to alterations, the staff at Jo-Lin's made the whole process stress free. I also bought my bridesmaid's dress here and couldn't be happier!! I highly recommend this shop to any bride!

Customer Service Needs Improvement

I visited Jo Lin's in search of bridesmaid dresses. After entering the store, no employees greeted me or asked if I needed any assistance. Three people were assisting one customer and beither of them stopped what they were doing to see if I needed help. About six minutes later an associate did help me after I requested her assistance. At this bridal shop, the associates did not help me put the dress on. They did not even pin the dress so I could get an idea of how the dress would actually look on me. Overall, they have a nice selection of dresses, but their quality of service is awful.

After a horrible experience at another local bridal salon in downtown Columbia, I bought my dress from Jo-Lin's, and my experience there was wonderful. At three other local salons, I could not get the assigned sales associates to listen to what I said I wanted, which was pretty simple, and bring dresses in line with that. When I walked into Jo-Lin's, I didn't get pressure to purchase a dress at the top of my budget, much less higher, and was encouraged to wander around and choose the dresses I wanted to try on. Unlike some other salons, the designer names are displayed prominently by the dresses so you don't have to wonder what you're getting or if the pricing is off. When I asked, the owner made helpful suggestions, and I received plenty of one-on-one attention--short of the uncomfortable level of "attention" I received at another salon--even though I wandered in to try on dresses without an appointment. My mother and my bridesmaids are all getting their dresses from this store, and I would recommend it to any bride!

Lacking in customer care.

As I read through many other reviews about this bridal store, I find I had the same experience. Really bad customer service and a terrible attitude from the owner Linda. Some of the other ladies that work in there are nice but once I had to deal with Linda on a size issue, she was combative and seemed like she had a "she could take my business or leave it" attitude. I dont see that they care about their customers and are not particularly helpful in making you feel welcome. There are many other locations in Columbia and surrounding areas that are worth visiting and take better care of customers!

I am going to agree with the previous post, I would not give this place any type of stars, mainly due to the customer service, which is non existent! I am a big reviewer online both when a place is good and bad, and this experience was the worst I have had in a while. First of all unlike other bridal shops they do not assist you very much while you are trying on dresses, the only big mirror is on the OTHER side o the dressing rooms! My biggest issue came with renting the groomsmen tuxedos which all came in as what seemed to be extra extra larges and fit none of the groomsmen! The owner did not apologize, was very rude, offered no type of solution, you want a caring and considerate place when it comes to your wedding details! DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS PLACE!!

0 stars for this place if I could. My experience there, with the assistants and especially the owner (specifically!), ended in an 'almost lawsuit' and a very expensive dress charged to my credit card that I did not want. So, I am now trying to sell it and recoup what I lost.

They were VERY pushy and lots and lots of hidden charges. I really would avoid this company, as they definitely know their clientele's vulnerability and know how to take advantage of this time when a bride needs to be making decisions and trying dresses on, etc. They are beyond pushy and absolutely no negotiating. They called me day and night from different numbers (owner had the assistants call me from their personal phones), when I had to cancel my engagement, they harassed me about a dress I was considering and had put a deposit on, it was an absolutely horrible horrible experience. Their true character showed through, you do not need to deal with someone like this during your wedding time. Go elsewhere.

This customer put a non-refundable deposit on a gown that she loved and ignored us when we called for the overdue balance. As for "hidden charges," the only additional fees that are applicable are sales tax, plus-size fees and rush fees charged by the designer of the gown. Alterations are also a separate fee to be paid to the seamstress, and all customers are made fully aware of this before purchasing any gown. Our lay-away policy is also explained at the time of purchase. All gowns are to be paid in full after 3 months. This policy remains in place even if the wedding was canceled. In regards to our character, we never charge a customer's credit card until they give us permission to do so. Ignoring calls from a business that you rightfully owe money to, is an even better indicator of character.

Best in Columbia!

Best place to shop for wedding dresses in Columbia. Were so helpful & nice! I must have tried on 40 dresses and they were still so nice! I couldn't make up my mind so they suggested they would take me to lunch & then I could come back and decide! Couldn't ask for more!
