Established in 1965, Mid-Continent Public Library is one of the largest library systems in the United States. It offers a range of books and reference materials on various subjects, including science, mathematics, language and social studies. The library operates through more than 25 branches in Clay, Jackson and Platte counties in western Missouri. Mid-Continent Public Library has a collection of over 3 million books. The library features CDs, DVDs, and audio and video cassettes. It provides online resources for homework, research and recreational materials.
