My visit there was great with Dr. John Taylor and Kathy F went above and beyond to find me a prescription after going to four other doctors telling me they couldn't help me! Give Kathy F a raise she Rocks!

Have had nothing but great service at Discover. I see Dr. Rob and he's the bomb diggity.

I continue to suffer complications from my LASIK surgery at Discover Vision Center performed by Dr. Doane in January 2008. My symptoms include chronic dry eye and painful corneal erosions. While the physicians at DVC tried to help me during the post op process they failed to properly understand my condition. It took nearly 18 months until I finally found a Doctor in the KC area that could help. Prior to the surgery Dr. Doane told me personally that I was an "excellent candidate" for LASIK.



I realize that most people do not suffer any side effects from the surgery. While that is true, keep in mind you could also end up like me and dealing with the side effects for the rest of your life.

I had Discover Vision do my Lasik and it was one of the best decisions that I have made. They are professional and they treat you with respect. I can highly recommend them for all your eye care needs.

I've been having my eyes checked yearly since I was 4 years old (now 40). This was my first time with Discover O because they were convenient, took my insurance and looked professional. My complete exam was done by a tech who then told me a doctor would be in in a couple of minutes. 20 minutes later I was still waiting. I went to walk around and when I came back they told me another 10-15 because the doctor was busy. Clearly, they were too busy for my business. I recommend looking elswhere. -jason

Several of my friends and family members have had Lasik. I had gone to two other clinics for evaluations. I found Discover Vision Centers to be very pleasant. They answered all my questions and were not pushy at all. The other centers were either pushy or full of themselves. I can say after the fact that I made the best decision for myself by going with Discover Vision Centers. I have been to both Leawood and Independence and they have been great.

I pondered having LASIK for years. I was very nervous. As it turned out I asked everyone I could what their experience was and virtually everyones' was great and everyone had gone to Discover Vision so I made my appointment with Discover Vision. From the first call to my last visit it has been awesome and much more than I even anticipated. I could not have made a better choice and it has totally changed my life. Believe me life without glasses and contacts are great and Discover Vision was wonderful. The are 5 Star experience and company for sure!

I have been a Discover Vision Centers patient since I was a kid and would not dream of seeing a different eye doctor. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy, and have had the privilege of seeing several doctors at different locations over the years, including Dr. Patrick Price in Blue Springs, Carl Stout and Brett Dawson in Independence, Dr. Rob in Lee's Summit, and Dr. Crawford and Dr. Doane in Leawood. I would recommend them to anyone, and have sent many friends and family members their way.



My most recent experience was with dry eye. Sounds harmless, but I woke up one morning and could hardly see. My vision was blurry, eyes were burning and watering, and really light sensitive. I went to the Independence office and the girls at the front desk could see that I was in a lot of pain. They worked me into the schedule and Dr. Dawson was in the room almost immediately. I was given a cocktail combination of eyedrops which relieved the pain : ) Living in the Midwest has its perks and downfalls, I guess.



Thank you to the staff and doctors at Discover for giving me immediate and helpful service. A doctors office like this is hard to come by these days!

It would be in your best interest to find a great local doctor that isn't a slave to the corporation. This office (Leawood) has a rude staff, receptionists and technicians. The doctors are not very personable and seem to just be pushing through as many patients as they can in one day in an effort to gain the most profit. You will find yourself waiting for at least 15-30 minutes past your scheduled appointment time. You will then usually wait in an exam room for 30-45 minutes until the doctor is ready to rush through your exam and make you feel poor about asking questions and wasting his time. The staff treat you poorly even though it's clear there is no pre-requisite to working there. The only positive I have ever experienced was at the retail portion of the office. The girls working there took plenty of time helping me pick out the perfect glasses and were a joy to work with. It's a shame that no one else there can learn from their example. In trying to request a copy of my prescription, which is well within the bounds of the law, they kept me on the phone over 30 minutes giving me the run-around that they couldn't find my chart. They then proceded to tell me that nobody would accept my prescription without another exam. (I had just had one 6 months ago). I took my business to another doctor. Don't make the same mistake I did.
