This is no longer China Buffet. That changed hands with a hispanic family and it is now called Lachita's (?) or something like that and it was the worst experience I have encountered. Find some where else to go people! This is not chinese food.

I went there yesterday 1/31/14 and it was absolutely disgusting. I love chinese food and am a big fan of Mandarin House and Wing Li to name a couple of local places but this food was terrible. I arrived right after work at 6PM and the place was empty. The crab rangoon was hard as a rock and the filling was dried up and gross. The General's chicken was 90% batter with barely any meat and what was there was a tiny chunk of gross dark meat. Even their egg rolls didn't taste good. To top things off, despite being the only person in the entire place, they never once came back to my table to refill my drink after it was initially filled up and I had to wait in front of the Iady to finish her personal phone call to ring me up at the end! I will never go there again.

I am a sad panda today. I was one of the first 5 customers when this Awesome place first opened its doors. The place was bare bones and underbudgeted. BUT they had the best chinese food ever made on the shores of this great country. But alas, after years of weekly visits, and making friends with the people there, it has gone away. New owners have taken control of that great ship called china buffet, and they sail it off into a reef of bland food and higher prices. I am very upset, as you can see, and to the employees of the ORIGINAL China Buffet, my children that you have know since birth, and all my family you have met and befriended, we will miss you, for you truly were part of our family. She She my friends for what will be a life time happiness to us, and it all came from one little resteraunt that touched so many and left a large hole that will never be filled.

My mom and I go here quite frequently. The owner and his wife even knows us by name. I absolutely love their food especially the stuffed mushrooms. They are very friendly and have excellent service. If I could I would eat there every day.

My wife and I go there about 3 times a week. We think the food is very well done, and the manager/owner and his wife are very kind and knowledgeable.



They are always willing to take a little to talk and answer any question we have. New items are appearing often.



Our favorites are coconut cubes, ginger chicken, and sushi of many varieties. There 3 rows of food counters and all you can eat.



We are very happy this buffet is in Independence.

I have been going to china buffet almost weekly for over 5 years it was great and just their all around chinese food experience.

It is the best buffet with the most choices available in the Independence area. We eat here 3 times a week, and have been, since it opened for business.It is run by the Zhao family, Kevin and Katy.
