I travel alot with my work and I always used to pack my clothes in a suitcase and give them to the airline. After getting my luggage lost numerous times, I decided to ship them and pick them up when I'm in my destination. This has worked wonderfully for me. I needed to get three boxes of frozen gourmet meals, prepared by a chef in upstate New York, to Atlanta GA and other points south. The Shipping Place handled everything but the cooking. The grateful recipients reported the meals arrived in perfect, still-frozen condition, and a day sooner than anticipated. I have used The Shipping Place for my own business and personal shipments for many years, and highly recommend them to everyone. Ted and his staff are not only friendly, courteous, and helpful, but are greatly knowledgeable about their industry. I have never had an errant package, or damaged shipments, and it's their attention to the little details that I feel separates them from the competition. No other shipper has ever given me a receipt for a prepaid drop off package, but THEY DO! Nice touch, and I feel a MUST to have proof that you really shipped an item out. The "other guys" at the "Big Box Shipper" flat out refused to ever give me such a receipt. This is just another of the many reasons why I will NEVER use any other shipping company.

I am on the west coast and contacted Ted about a problem that I was experiencing with a competing service in a nearby town. I had paid with them to pick up a scientific instrument that I bought at auction and pack and ship for me. They picked up as planned, but did not ship when they told me they would. When they did not return my phone calls or e-mails, out of frustration, I asked Ted, owner of The Shipping Place, to call them and arrange to pick it up and ship it to me. Ted called me back and told me that they would not return his calls either. His calls must have gotten their attention. They shipped it to me the next day which was 3 weeks after the pickup date. Although I was not able to use The Shipping Service, I would recommend them based upon the no-charge help Ted provided me.
