My girlfriend and I had a late lunch at this IHOP on Friday afternoon, May 25th. Let me begin by giving some background information: we both attended high school and college in the 1970s, during which time we worked in restaurants--so, we know how restaurants are SUPPOSED to operate.

When we entered this IHOP, we observed the waitstaff loitering about, engaged in personal conversations--while at least 15-20 meals were setting under the heatlamps, waiting to be served to customers.

When we were finally seated, we were told by the hostess not to expect very good service because they were so badly understaffed. She was right; and, that's when we should have left, and gone done the street to Friendly's.

When our waitress finally came to our table, we had to ASK for coffee; we also had to wait a VERY long time for her to come back, so that we could place our order--to which I requested extra butter. We then had to wait a VERY long time for our order to be served to us (about 45 minutes!)--and, of course, the waitress FORGOT the extra butter (which we had to request AGAIN--and then wait a VERY long time for)... and worst of all, EVERYTHING WAS ICE COLD: OUR FOOD WAS COLD, AND OUR "HOT" COFFEE WAS COLD.

We also had to request HOT coffee; and, then we had to request a refill.

The service was so VERY bad--waiting FOREVER FOR EVERYTHING--that it took us TWO HOURS to have our lunch and leave.

And, more importantly, the VERY BAD SERVICE WAS INEXCUSABLE--because the waitstaff had enough time to loiter and engage in personal conversations... but, they did NOT have enough time to do their jobs in a professional and conscientious manner.
