I am truly impressed how Pro Auto stands behind their work. Even though the transmission repair was well past its warranty they stood behind their work and repaired it again free of charge. Pro Auto is the only repair shop I know of that will reimburse you if a repair turns out to be unwarranted. That includes parts and labor. I would highly recommend them for their workmanship and integrity.

My Son had a coolant leak in his truck and we brought it in to Pro Auto Repair on Februay 14th. They called us and said it needed a new water pump. That was "$88" and "the thermostat is part of the water pump" (never said that was extra). The bill came to $489.33! Got charged $188 for the water pump and $33 for a thermostat and $210 to install. I thought all their part and labor prices were outrageous so I called NAPA. $120 for the same new water pump. Then I called the local GM dealer. $135 for the new aftermarket waterpump. How much to put it in? He checked and said $180. I called up Pro Auto and asked what the heck was going on and why I was overcharged on everything? He said I approved the $489 bill on the phone. I told him NO! he NEVER qouted me a final price and if I had agreed to it I wouldn't be calling him back all pissed off. I told him the prices I found and he demanded to know where I got the prices. I told him. For the labor cost he said the books say it is 1.9 hours and the shop rate is $88 per hour. Um, Ok, that's $167 and you charged me $210.89! He said he was going to investigate this and would call back. He called me later and never disputed a thing. He said the owner was out until Monday and he would talk to him and then they would see what they could do. So they finally called me Tuesday late afternoon. Their solution? With a smug attitude I was told "Bring the truck back into our shop and we will put the old water pump back in the truck, I'll write you a check for $489 and you can go somewhere else." I told him that truck was never going to be back in their shop again. And that is exactly what they expected and wanted. Would never recommend to anyone to go to Pro Auto & Transmission Repair in Hutchinson!!
