Hunter Mountain is a four-season resort located just over two hours from the New York metropolitan area at Hunter, N.Y. The resort's focal point is the ski and snowboard mountain itself, boasting a 1,600-foot vertical drop. From its inception in the late 1950s, the owners and management of Hunter Mountain have been committed to provide snow conditions throughout the season through extensive snowmaking. Hunter was the first in the state to install snowmaking, with top-to-bottom snowmaking and to have 100 percent snowmaking coverage of the entire mountain. Hunter has hosted World Cup pro races in the past and entertains high-caliber events, such as the NorAm SuperSeries.
