Complimentary to chiropractic or acupuncture treatment, Upright Posture Fitness uses the highly successful postural therapy method developed by Pete Egoscue, who has been helping people to free themselves from chronic back problems with simple but very effective exercises for more than 20 years all over the world. The Egoscue® method is based on the fact that there is a direct connection between compromised posture and chronic musculoskeletal pain. It is not a physical therapy or just another fitness program. It does not concentrate on the site of pain or injury but treats the body as a unit. It improves the compromised posture of each client with simple but very effective exercises tailored to posture deviations and back problems of each individual. As an Egoscue®certified postural alignment specialist, I am not a doctor, not a chiropractor or a massage therapist. I was taught at the Egoscue® University and got certified in the Egoscue method®. I practice what I preach - after 15 years of chronic pain while working in the computer field, I finally found a method that works and allows me to live an active and a pain free life. A simple method that is so effective that it inspired me to change my career to help other people. Be Pro-Active The Egoscue method® is much more than just a posture improvement program. It is very educational and teaches a person to listen to one's body and be pro-active - even before the pain strikes. The good news is that you don't need a perfect posture to be more functional and live pain free. This method provides a tool to restore (or at least get much closer to) a proper alignment at any age and provides the body with the ability to move correctly and efficiently.
