Founded in 1971, South Atlantic Services is a contract packaging firm that offers drumming, dry storage, blending and processing, transportation and blow-molding services. It uses specialized blenders and glass- and rubber-lined equipment for reaction chemistry. The company fills steel and polyethylene drums, liquid totes, pails, bottles and bags at its Wilmington, N.C., and Houston locations. It utilizes several insulated, stainless steel liquid-mixing vessels and heating and cooling coils in the blending and processing of liquid chemicals. South Atlantic Services also uses dry cylindrical mixers for powder blending and processing. In addition, it performs powder de-lumping and grinding services. The company uses an extrusion blow-molding process to manufacture high-density polyethylene bottles that are used for packaging internally, as well as for sale externally. South Atlantic Services has more than 500,000 feet of warehousing capacity and several silos with the capacity of dry storage.
