Founded in 1926, Lanier Middle School is located in Houston. The school serves more than 1,300 students in grades six through eight. Its curriculum includes math, science, social studies and language arts. It offers Spanish, German and French as foreign languages. Lanier Middle School features a band, choir and orchestra. The school also offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, music, dance, theatre and physical education. It operates a parent-teacher organization that conducts fundraising activities and special programs. In addition, its range of sports activities includes basketball, volleyball, soccer and football. The school operates various educational and cultural clubs. Its staff includes a custodian, counselor, nurse and speech pathologist.
