Located in Horseheads, N.Y., Center Street Elementary is an educational facility that offers academic services for more than 350 students. It provides classes in social studies, science, math and language arts for students in kindergarten through grade four. The school also offers lessons in art, music, physical education, and reading and writing. It has a parent-teacher organization that conducts regular meetings and recreational events and parties for teachers, parents and students. Center Street Elementary employs a special educator, social worker, psychologist, nurses, teaching assistants, and physical and occupational therapists. Additionally, it organizes various cocurricular programs, such as spelling bee, musical note, and basketball and football camps. Center Street Elementary is a part of the Horseheads Central School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools and provides transportation, nutritional and health care services.
