      General Info
      In operation since 1977, the Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility is a part of the city of Hopewell, Va. The department works towards enhancing the health of the community by removing pollutants from the domestic and industrial wastewater. It treats more than 35 million gallons of wastewater per day. The department processes and treats nonhazardous and nonmetal bearing liquid waste. The Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility provides biosolids disposal services, as well as ensures compliance with environmental law. The department also handles cases related to sanitary sewer blockage and backups. In addition, the Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility conducts several tests to monitor water quality.
