Located in Hopewell, Va., Carter G. Woodson Middle School s academic curriculum includes the core subjects of English, math, science and social studies. The curriculum also includes art, chorus, band, physical education, foreign language, computer technology and gifted education. Each classroom houses a computer for teacher and student use. Carter G. Woodson Middle School offers several sports programs, including football, basketball, softball, baseball and cheerleading. The school is a part of Hopewell City Schools, which provides educational programs for more than 4,000 students. It operates several elementary schools, a middle and high school and a learning center. Each school of the system is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
