Although the vet that came out to see my horse was amazing, the office staff was the rudest bunch of people that I have ever met. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting to pay my bill while the two people behind the desk stared off into space and did nothing. When they finally decided to help me they were impolite and slightly hostile. They also do not take credit/debit cards. When vet bills get high, as which they tend to do, credit cards are the most user friendly for both customer and business, it's just impractical not to be able to use them.
My family began going to Hopewell in the mid 1970's. I worked there while in High School in the mid 1980's. I still take my animals there today and refer them every chance I get. Most of these vets have been there for a very long time. It is like going to the family doctor. They really do care about animals and their owners. They are very honest, however, so I understand why some people may find them abrupt but they don't want to mislead people. We have had many animals that were healthy and only there for routine visits but we have also had some that had issues & cared for my mother's dog while my mother was hospitalized for over 5 months & loved her like their own. They did a beautiful job on the ACL surgery of my young Rottweiler. They have no problem referring you to someone if they feel they are better suited - which they did for my bird. There prices are amazing as they know pet care is hard for some people. They are truly the best and I would go nowhere else! Thank You
I began seeing the vets at this hospital because I was dog sitting a dog who came here. After several visits, I also thought their prices were lower than my regular vet in Flemington. So, I began bringing all my pets here, until this past winter. Your treated like a 2nd class citizen if you take the late afternoon hours. One afternoon I went to pick up cat food and the office was still empty with only 1 patient. I stood at the reception desk for a good 5 minutes and was ignored. I waited another 10 minutes and finally walked in the back to find everyone chit chatting away and no service in the front. I got into an argument with one of the nurses fro having to wait so long while they were talking and she refused to provide the food and told me to go elsewhere, my business wasn't needed. That was the last time I visited. It's a shame the owner lets the place run like that with no supervision and not caring if you are please or not! I doubt I'll return unless I get desperate!

My dog and I travel a lot, so I've seen vets in many different areas. I am pleased with the Hopewell Vet Group, but I'm not convinced that they deserve 5 stars. Compared to other vets I've recently seen (my dog has some health issues so I bring her to the vet 5 or 6 times a year) their physical exam of her was lacking. She recently had minor surgery here that went very well, but ended up being about $100 more than I'd been quoted by a clinic in another state. Overall they are very competent, but I am not particularly impressed with them -- I adore my dog and want nothing but the best for her! Also, the waiting room was FILTHY. I know that there are more important things to worry about, but with about 5 receptionists gabbing away, it would be nice if one of them could run a swiffer around the room.
I have 3 dogs that are seen by this vet group. My pom was very sick when I brought her home. She was seen here at hopewell vet group by Dr. Judy. I give my upmost gratitude for saving her life. My oldest has recently passed away and I have the honor of keeping her remains because of the fair costs of the services they provide. Now, I just purchased a shepard pup, guess who her vet will be. Keep up the great work, professionalism, and fair costs in todays economy crunch. It means alot to be able to afford the costs of keeping "your best friend" healthy....thanks a bunch Hopewell Vet Group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

My cat has been seen by three different vets here, and each one has been professional yet kind. The receptionists and techs are also very friendly, and the evening and weekend hours make it easy to schedule an appointment at a convenient time.

top notch, reasonably priced vet care. been a customer for over 20 years. all vets are professionals and take the time to explain everything. we need more businesses like this one.
These vets are true and compassionate animal lovers. They put in very long hours to make healthcare for our pets convenient and affordable to everyone. The open afternoon and evening hours are important for the sudden illnesses or injuries that can occur. They saved the life of one of my best horses and have delivered kind and caring healthcare to my other horses and dogs over the years. AND they are very affordable.
I am in animal rescue and I brought a dog to this Vet with heartworm. Instead of being concerned about the health of the animal I was chastised for bringing "diseased" animals into the state and admonished for rescuing dogs from outside our immediate area. In other words, a dog should be condemned to death because it wasn't born in NJ. The unprofessionalism continued with me being told that frankly they didn't need my business - they had enough to do with their "own" clients. Yes, I took in an animal from outside the state that turned out to be heartworm positive but that does not mean the animal deserves any less care and compassion because it is a rescue pup. The entire experience was very negative and I would never bring another sick animal here because of the dismissive attitude of the Vet towards an unfortunate creature who was not from the area, but who needed help nonetheless. The close-minded rant was uncalled for and the curt way the animal was dismissed was unwarranted.
A few years back i was going to put my dog down as our vet said her operation would cost $1600. My kids were devastated and said they would sell their pokemon collection. My wife called every vet in the area and stumbled upon hopewell they did the surgery for 1/4 the price and i got 3 more years of great health out of our dog. They have been our vet ever since and have turned many people on to them. Thanks a million for the great treatment every time i come in.
Dr. Mark Smith is the most capable, compassionate, sensitive and caring veterinarian that I have ever known in my 35 years of owning animals. The ladies running the office are equally as kind and capable.
