Hoover Police Department s mission is to prevent and reduce crime to provide security and a sense of well being for its citizens. The department provides primary processing of 911 emergency calls, dispatches support to police and fire emergencies and serves as the command center for disasters within the city limits. Its operations include criminal forensics, investigations, special response team tactics, bomb disposal, K-9 operations, traffic accident reconstruction, traffic law enforcement, training, school services, domestic violence, mountain bike patrolling and drug interdiction. The department also focuses on crime prevention through patrols and by working with schools and neighborhoods to foster crime awareness and drug prevention programs. Hoover Police Department is located in Birmingham, Ala.
