The Arc of the South Shore provides services and advocacy for children and adults with mental retardation, and cognitive, physical and developmental disabilities. It is a family-oriented, community-based nonprofit agency in North Weymouth, Mass. The agency also undertakes a range of legislative advocacy, information and referral, parent networking, community education, consultation and outreach activities. The Arc of the South Shore offers job skill acquisition and recruitment, on-the-job training and transportation services. The agency s personal care services include bathing, dressing and toileting, medication administration and mobility exercises. The Arc of the South Shore has been operational since 1951.
